High School Competition
KISAC SPORTS GUIDELINES
The following are suggested guidelines for hosting of tournaments and events – facilities, staffing and number of teams attending may result in necessary adaptation of these guidelines.
Please communicate all rules/guidelines in advance of hosting events – this is to allow attending schools to try these out in advance.
High School Games & Tournaments – Varsity & Junior Varsity
At HS Level competitions are organised by age group where Students compete at Under 19 years of age. Age is taken on 1st August of the year of the competition. NB Students may not participate if they have turned 19 years of age unless disclosed and agreed by participating KISAC schools. Wherever possible teams will be spilt into “Varsity” and “Junior Varsity” by ability rather than age – Varsity players should not play in JV events unless there
Event Formats
High School (HS) events are usually tournament style and should try to offer A & B competitions where possible to allow all levels of ability. Events may be staffed by KISAC teaching staff but where possible external referees should be utilised. HS events should include an overall trophy and penant for the winning teams in each competition.
