Elementary School Competition
KISAC SPORTS GUIDELINES
The following are suggested guidelines for hosting of tournaments and events – facilities, staffing and number of teams attending may result in necessary adaptation of these guidelines.
Please communicate all rules/guidelines in advance of hosting events – this is to allow attending schools to try these out in advance...
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LOWER = U9 – G23 – Y34: pertaining to a child of max age 9 (i.e., who turns 9 between the 1st July in which the school year commences and 31st August in which the school year ends)
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL UPPER = U11 – G45 – Y56: pertaining to a child of max age 11 (i.e., who turns 11 between the 1st July (in which the school year commences) and 31st August (in which the year the school year ends).
Event Formats
Lower Elementary School (LES) events are generally “workshop” events where schools are mixed for children to experience a sport at a friendly level. Schools may hold informal mini tournaments, but teams are mixed and may even be mixed gender – depending on the sport. All such teams should be mixed equally to ensure equal games for all.
Upper Elementary School (UES) events are generally separate gender and where possible in team events, 2 pitches/courts to allow less able
or smaller schools – to participate in sport which is suitable for their level of experience and ability. Where there are more than one team per level – these teams should be mixed equally.
This year, Elementary School have the opportunity to compete in the following KISAC Competitions:
